Fighting Famine
Madagascar, ranked 124th out of 125 countries in the Global Hunger Index, witnesses a large population from the southern part of the country migrating to major cities such as Ambovombe, Ambossoary, and Fort Dauphin to escape food insecurity.
The lack of food and water continues to claim too many lives, especially among the most vulnerable populations: children and the elderly. The effects of malnutrition result in lasting, sometimes irreversible, consequences on the health and development of children. Swollen bellies indicate abdominal swelling caused by water retention in the abdominal cavity and an enlarged liver. Famine not only leads to a weakening of physical strength but also weakens the immune system, exposing victims to infectious diseases such as tuberculosis.
Eliezer responds to this humanitarian crisis by taking action and swiftly distributing vital supplies to affected communities.
By providing adequate nutrition, we hope to save lives and prevent the devastating consequences of malnutrition. Our project also aims to restore hope by showing that helping hands are reaching out to support populations in need.
